Requirements of Administrative Officer Jobs in Cape Town 2025:


To apply for the Administrative Officer position, candidates should have a three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher qualification) in a relevant field. Including Property, Public Administration, Business Management, or Accounting. Responsibilities of Administrative Officers:

Administrative officers are responsible for providing administrative support, collecting, maintaining, analyzing, processing, and reporting on data in the Provincial Property Register (IAR). They maintain accurate records of property ownership in the name of the Provincial Government in Cape Town, update records, and ensure data accuracy and completeness. They verify data to ensure accuracy and completeness and are responsible for maintaining all recorded history of property systems and updating records as new information is added.

Competencies of Administrative Officers:


As an administrative officer, you should possess knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Government Immovable Asset Management (GIAMA) Act, Municipal Valuations Roles, and procedures, as well as an understanding of restrictive conditions and property classes. You should have good communication and verbal skills, and be proficient in computer software, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. You should be able to create presentations, use formulas, and create and edit documents. Candidates will obey senior staff orders, demonstrate leadership qualities, and work effectively in a team environment. And you will provide a positive work environment for staff, maintain a clean and organized office area, and prepare all the reports on a weekly or monthly basis.
